Most of us were from kampong schools around Muar, 'bundled' up and forced to study form one 'special class' at High School Muar. In form one and form two we were in the 'All-Malay' class but in form three we joined up with clever chinese boys to compete with them. Murtaza Musa, Tahir Othman, Syed Salleh, Iqbal Husain and myself were then together in SMSJ after LCE.
